Identification of these three banks including PNB is about to end

Identification of these three banks including PNB is about to end


 Actually, National Bank (PNB), United Bank of India and Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) are going to merge.  According to news agency PTI, a new name and logo will be announced for the entity formed after the merger. In such a case, the name and logo of these three banks will be changed.  This new unit will start functioning from 1 April 2020.  Please tell here that the new entity will be the second largest bank in the country after the State Bank of India, whose total business size will be Rs 18 lakh crore.  At the same time, the number of employees in this unit jointly will be 1 lakh.


 An official of United Bank of India told news agency PTI that the logo is very important to identify the new bank.  This has been discussed at a high level in all three banks.


 The official said that the three banks had constituted 34 committees to standardize the procedures and to coordinate.  The committees have already submitted their reports to the respective boards of directors.

 Accordingly, the leading bank PNB has appointed consultant EY who will monitor the standardization and coordination.  This includes matters related to human resources, software, products and services.

 Let us know that last year, the central government announced the merger of 10 banks.  After the merger of these banks, 4 new banks will be formed.
